Original Doujinshi: Aruhi, Mori no Naka. (1) review

Posted : 13 years ago on 23 May 2011 08:56 (A review of Original Doujinshi: Aruhi, Mori no Naka. (1))

Takanaga Hinako is a professional manga artist who has a characteristic style of made up of flowing lines and beautiful, expressive faces; both of these certainly come through in all the books of her Aruhi, Mori no Naka doujinshi series. The art is a touch further on the "sketchy" side than her professionally published works, but it's actually quite interesting to see more of the rawness in her pencil and pen work here. The characters, who are transposed from her hugely popular Koi Suru Bokun (The Tyrant Falls In Love) BL manga series, are all quite recognizable even when endowed with animal ears and tails for this whimsical spin-off.

The story itself is of the author's typically high quality, following the evolution of the relationship between Ookami-san (Mr. Wolf, Tatsumi Souichi from KSB) and Kuma (Bear, Morinaga Tetsuhiro from KSB) after Bear discovers his secret crush, Wolf, injured and nurses him back to health.
